This is a cheap way to deal with cats or dogs who like to chew on things - plants, slippers, furniture, etc. Unlike other pet repellants, this one uses taste and not smell - so unless you're gnawing on that table leg yourself, you're not going to notice it. Your pets, however, will - every time they try to start biting something they'll have to deal with a bitter, nasty taste. This product has been around since the 1960's and is generally accepted as the best in its field - there have been some other efforts at similar products but mostly they failed because the animals would get used to the taste. This one stays pretty awful, so they will avoid it like the plague.
