What does it mean when a cat is in heat?
Cat heat is something that happens to females as part of the reproductive cycle. They go into heat as a way to attract males. It is a hormonal change in the cat that cause different behavior, and it can often be very annoying for owners.
Basically, your cat will be very anxious to mate, and it will be producing pheromones that will cause any male cats around to change their behavior as well. It can be very, very irritating, as female cats in heat will thrash around, engage in cat spraying on the furniture, and generally make lots of noise and commotion.
