Frontline Plus for a Cat

Every kind of cat can get fleas - from an outdoor cat (who obviously picks them up in the yard or from other animals) to even indoor cats. Frontline Plus Cat medicine will take care of this problem - it is pretty effective at killing fleas, and it does it for a pretty long time. This is one of the main benefits - you usually only have to apply the drops once every month or two. You just put them on the back of the neck and it will gradually get absorbed into the cat's hair follicles, killing off fleas. With cats, it's even easier than dogs - you usually can't bathe the animal for a few days, but that's obviously not a problem with most cats.

How can it help with an indoor cat?

How do indoor cats get fleas? This baffles most owners - it just doesn't seem likely that an indoor cat could ever have access to them. The answer could come from a lot of places. First, if you take them to the vet, that's a likely candidate. Vets just can't keep all fleas out of their offices, and you might end up getting some from there as an inevitable part of owning a cat. The more surprising answer is that your outdoor cat might be getting fleas from you. Yeah, it sounds weird, but think about it - how often do you go up and pet a cute dog or cat that you see? Most pet owners love to make friends with other animals - and fleas are so small that they could easily make the jump. Even if they don't, flea eggs that are totally invisible fall off into an animal's fur, and they can get on you when you pet it. Frontline Plus cat medicine will make it OK to go pay attention to another cat - it kills off adult fleas as they crawl around and bite your pet. That means that even though you may bring back a flea or two into your house, they won't be able to breed - one bite, and it's done.

Dosing Information: As with any flea control product, you need to weigh your pet first to figure out which version of Frontline to buy, because they are sold according to pet weight. The categories for dogs are: under 22 pounds, 23-44 pounds, 45-88 pounds, and 89-132 pounds. For cats, there isn't much weight variation and so there is only one product version for you to worry about.
