Kerasolv Gel
Kerasolv is a gel that is used on the skin of dogs and cats to reduce the levels of keratin, which is a tough part of the skin. Feel the bottom of your dog or cat's pads - they feel a little rougher than the rest of the skin. This is because of the keratin. Unfortunately, sometimes pets get a condition called hyperkeratosis. The keratin grows out of control, meaning that the nose or pads of a dog or cat grow that rough skin excessively, causing it to crack and become extremely painful for the pet. Kerasolv is made to be rubbed on these areas that are growing too much.
It's also used on calluses and some other skin conditions. It relies on salicylic acid to reduce the keratin in the skin, leaving the regular skin fine.
Are there any side effects?
You need to keep it away from your pet's eyes, because it can hurt them. Also, you need to watch out for redness or swelling where you are using it - some pets can have bad skin reactions to it. Immediately stop using it if you see this and take the pet to the vet to be examined.
