Should you neuter your cat?
Male cats are neutered through castration. It is highly recommended that you do this. Even if you're a guy and you've got hangups over it, you need to deal with it and have the cat neutered. Why? Because it increases the long term health of the cat and it prevents the cat population from increasing - meaning less kittens that have to be put down because they have no homes.
Male cats are generally neutered around six months old, but it's not based on a set time - it's whenever the cat's testicles have dropped but before the odor of its urine starts to change. If you do not neuter the cat, it will fight with other cats, will be difficult to keep indoors, will be at greater risk of cancers, and will spray furniture in the house to mark his territory.
