Can you spay a cat while it's in heat?
Technically it's possible - but no, you probably should not spay a cat while it is in heat. Spaying a cat can be done while in heat, but it is riskier. The ovaries are enlarged, and the cat has less ability to clot its blood. You really need to wait until the heat is over - it will take anywhere from four to nine days for this to end. Then you've got at least a week or two before it starts all over. You need to get it done during this window of opportunity - it is the safest thing to do for the cat.
