What are the symptoms of a cat in heat?
A female cat in heat will display a number of behavioral changes. First, they will be extremely anxious to get outside, and they may frequently try to make a run for it every time you open the door. Second, they will constantly be rubbing on the floors and on the furniture. Third, they will engage in spraying, leaving their scent (and urine) everywhere. Fourth, they will meow over and over, and go nuts if they see a male cat outside. Fifth, she will lift her tail (something cats do to get males). Sixth, she will generally look and act restless. All this behavior is stuff cats may normally do, but in heat the behavior will get a lot worse. You can tell a cat is in heat because it will be a pretty dramatic change in the way it acts.
